The City Nature Challenge is an international effort for people to find and log plants and wildlife in cities. It's an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities collaborate to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal. We'll start the day with Nature Journaling from 10-11am. Learn how to tie together creativity with scientific effort as we look for early-spring plants, birds and other organisms. Journals and pencils will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. We'll also start with an iNaturalist app tutorial, so you're ready to trek through the trails. Let's celebrate biodiversity, and continue celebrating Earth Day! Registration for City Nature Challenge is not needed, but registration for Nature Journaling from 10-11am is required. Come Zipline with Philadelphia Outward Bound School! Registration is first come-first serve from 10am - 3pm. Climb up the 30-foot cargo net to the zip platform and then fly 300 feet across the “zip highway,” descending via a ladder. No prior experience necessary. POBS will provide equipment and instruction. Suitable for ages 8 and up. Children and youth must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. Closed-toed shoes such as sneakers are required.
