Discovery Days are monthly events at the Discovery Center that are free and open to the public
Discovery Days are monthly events at the Discovery Center that are free and open to the public. These events are co-hosted by Philadelphia Outward Bound School (POBS) and Audubon Mid-Atlantic (AMA). Each month provides opportunities for community members to experience different adventures and activities related to the outdoors. In March, POBS will be offering free rock climbing at our indoor rock wall. The activity is suitable for participants of any experience level, including beginners, ages 8 and up. POBS will provide equipment and instruction. Four climbing sessions will be offered over the course of the day on a first come, first serve basis. Participants must fill out a risk and liability waiver in order to participate. Children and youth must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. Audubon Mid-Atlantic will be hosting an Environmental Resource Fair from 11-3pm, and the launch of our Resource Library from 2-3:30pm! Check out the resource fair near the Parking Lot (or in the great hall if it rains) and receive resources from organizations that are building sustainable, healthy communities and ecosystems. Come to Audubon’s table around 1:30pm to listen about our sustainability work! If you are interested in tabling at the fair, fill out this form. We are also partnering with Energy Coordinating Agency who will provide a PGW Conservation Workshop with DIY kits from 11:30-1pm. Walk up the trail to our Lobby to celebrate the launch of our brand new Resource Library! It will have books for people of all ages, covering the topics of environmental justice, birds, and general nature. This event will include giveaways and light refreshments.
