About Tinyjawns

The Story

Like most new parents, we were constantly asking friends: "What are you doing with the kids this weekend?"

But the best events we found weren't from Google - they were the ones we stumbled upon by accident. A flyer at our neighborhood coffee shop. A conversation with another parent at the playground. A handwritten sign on a bulletin board.

We'd discover these amazing local spots and think: "How do other parents find out about this?" Most never would.

Then came the breaking point: an Easter egg hunt where our three-year-old was completely overwhelmed by older kids rushing past her. We realized we needed two things - age-appropriate recommendations AND a way to surface all those hidden neighborhood gems we'd been stumbling across.

The best family spots in Philly weren't on Google. The solo music teacher posting flyers at the coffee shop. The neighborhood play cafe tucked away on a side street. The pop-up storytime at the independent bookstore. They were invisible unless you happened to walk by at the right moment.

What We Do

We surface the hyper-local events and hidden gems across Philadelphia, giving you the power to find what fits your family's needs.

Every week, we:

  1. Discover hidden local events that most families never find
  2. Surface the neighborhood gems that make Philly special
  3. Verify they're family-friendly and provide all the details you need
  4. Deliver the best local discoveries to your inbox every Thursday

No more asking in group chats. No more missing out on the local spots that make your neighborhood special. Just the hidden gems and local favorites that give you the power to choose what fits your family.

Why We Focus on Local Discovery

Because the best family experiences in Philadelphia aren't the ones everyone already knows about.

We believe every family deserves to discover the hidden gems that make their neighborhood special. But we also believe those local businesses deserve to be found.

Our mission is to surface these local treasures and give you the information you need to decide what works for your family - whether you have toddlers, school-age kids, or a mix of ages. And we're building tools to help local businesses find more opportunities and not get buried by big corporations with massive marketing budgets.

We focus on local discovery because:

  • Hidden gems often provide the most authentic experiences
  • Local businesses need support from families who value community
  • Neighborhood connections make Philadelphia feel like home
  • Every family is different - you know what works best for yours

When you discover a new favorite local spot through Tinyjawns, that's when we know we've done our job - we've helped you find the Philadelphia that makes your family's story special.

What Makes Us Different

We're Philly Through & Through

Just like Tiny sitting on that classic Philly stoop, we understand the rhythm of this city. We know the neighborhoods, the local spots, and what makes Philadelphia special for families.

When we recommend events, we're thinking about what feels right for Philly families and what makes your neighborhood special.

We're Parents First

This isn't a content farm. We're Philly parents who use Tinyjawns to find things to do with our own daughter.

We're Hyper-Local

We are focused on Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. We know the neighborhoods, the local spots, and what makes Philadelphia special for families.

We Know the Struggle

We've been to the overwhelming events, asked the same questions in parent groups, felt lost in a city full of activities that weren't quite right for our family.

We Build Community

This isn't just about events - it's about helping parents feel connected to Philadelphia and to each other during this amazing (and sometimes isolating) time.
