More details
The 17th annual Beech "Jazz on the Ave" Music Festival shuts down Cecil B. Moore Avenue between Broad and 17th on Saturday, August 15 for a full day of free live music, food and community. Run by Beech Community Services in partnership with the 22nd Police District, the North Philadelphia festival leans jazz, funk and soul, opening with Shirley Lites and building to Vertical Current as the headliner. For families the useful part is the Kidz Zone, plus local vendors, community resource tables and free parking, which is rare for a street festival this size. It runs noon to 8:30, so bring a blanket or lawn chairs and treat it as a drop-in.
