Our experience

It is Philly's biggest party, and it has been for 51 years. ODUNDE takes over 16 blocks of South Philly with two stages of drumming and dance, a marketplace of vendors from across Africa, the Caribbean, and Brazil, and the food to match. The heart of it is the procession down to the Schuylkill to leave fruit and flowers for Oshun, the Yoruba goddess of the river. It is big and it gets crowded, so go early with little ones and pick a meetup spot before you dive in.

More details

Now in its 51st year, ODUNDE is the largest African American street festival in North America, taking over 16 blocks of South Philadelphia centered at 23rd and South. The day centers on a colorful procession from 23rd & South down to the Schuylkill River, where an offering of fruit and flowers is made to Oshun, the Yoruba goddess of the river. Beyond the ritual, there are two stages of live drumming, traditional African dance, and music, plus a marketplace of more than 100 vendors selling handcrafted goods and food from across Africa, the Caribbean, and Brazil. New for 2026 is a Sports Zone streaming the FIFA World Cup live.
