Join us in our museum EVERY SATURDAY for a family-friendly program that highlights strange and surprising stories from the history of science
Every Saturday the Science History Institute runs a free drop-in family program in its Old City museum, and the August 22 edition is Color and Light. There is a handling table on the history of the microscope and visible light, an Object Explorer touch table built around LED bulbs and everyday science, scavenger hunts at a few difficulty levels, and a Kid's Corner with puzzles, building toys and science books. Gallery guides are on the floor to talk through what you are looking at, and there are themed drop-in tours at 11:30am and 2pm. The museum is free, indoors, open 10 to 5, and no reservation is needed.
