More details
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival returns June 5
The Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival returns to Franklin Square for 2026, running nightly from 6 to 11 PM, June 5 through August 16 (closed July 4). This year brings more than 1,100 all-new lanterns across nearly 40 displays, including a 200-foot dragon, with themes tied to America's 250th anniversary and the 2026 World Cup. Along with the lanterns there are live acrobatic and cultural performances, festival food and drink, and the regular Franklin Square attractions nearby. It is a later, after-dark outing, so it tends to suit older kids more than toddlers.
