We Are the Seeds takes over the pier for two days with Indigenous artists, a pow wow, live painting, artist talks and El Mercado Cultural, the marketplace that runs alongside it. Saturday's hands-on tables are corn husk doll making and paper tipi art. Sunday moves to music, dance, storytelling and workshops. Admission is a suggested $20 and they mean the pay-what-you-can part. Parking at the pier is limited right now because of construction, so the Delaware River Trail is the easy way in on foot or by bike.

The First Naming of the United States

A free two-hour Firstival on the spot where the country got its name in 1776, with an opening ceremony, storytellers and a sculpture by Kat Black that traces the name back to the explorer Amerigo Vespucci.
